It turns out that many victims of theĀ shooting tragedy in Aurora Colorado have little if any health insurance. Most of the victims are under the age of 35 and you know what that means. In today’s economy the young are mostly unemployed or under employed which means they lack access to healthcare.
Some of the hospitals that are treating the shooting victims have announced that they will cover the entire cost for the patients. That’s good news for them, but it highlights the bad news for all of us which is that EVERYONE needs to have medical insurance.
If you or I were to get sick without insurance, it’s quite likely that NO ONE will step up and pay our bill – Worse, it’s quite possible that we would not have access to the care we need in the first place.
