General Electric has agreed to pay one of their executives $89,000 per month to stay home and not work. Yup, you heard that right. John Krenicki an exectutive who is leaving the company will be paid all that cash so long as he does not go to work for a competitor for three years. Man, this guy must be talented. i guess if he goes to work for the competition, GE will crumble.
But GE has a history of this sort of thing. Memba Jack Welch, the hard driving head of the company in the 90′s? He walked away with a retirement plan worth 400 million dollars. Yes, apparently jack has magical powers and the wisdom of God and therefore deserved that kind of payout.
FYI: GE made a profit of 14.2 billion worldwide in 2010 and paid ZERO in taxes. Zero!
I know this is fucked up because I can’t even find anyone to pay me $89,000 to actually go to work. Something is really wrong here.
