There are very few if any fans of the Iranian regime here in the United States. The country has been vilified (and for good reason) for decades now. They are run by a group of religious zealots, they sponsor terrorism and they are Anti-Semites who are hellbent on the destruction of Israel. In short, they’re bad guys.
But this week, the Iranians did something that most Americans would stand up and cheer for. They sentenced a group of corrupt bankers to death. On Monday, an Iranian court handed out the death sentences to four greedy, corrupt bankers who were responsible for the biggest bank fraud in the country’s history, they embezzled 2.6 billion dollars. In all, a total of 39 people were tried. Besides the two death sentences, two bankers received life in prison while others received up to 25 years in the big house. My gut feeling tells me an Iranian prison is no Club Fed.
Here in America, our greedy and corrupt bankers are currently having a lovely summer in the Hamptons. The same bankers that crippled our economy and wiped away the life savings of so many hard working Americans are enjoying the time of their lives while we toil and tussle. Like I said, I think a lot of Americans will cheer when they hear the news. I don’t think that we are out for blood — But we are entitled to some justice.
